Who we are

In August 2025, Zelda Zhou founded GDCC to serve low-income immigrant students in the Los Angeles area. Drawing on her experience growing up in a rural village without a local school and the barriers she faced supporting her family while applying to college, Zelda now offers English, art, and cooking lessons through GDCC to young students struggling to maintain daily school attendance.

Mission

GDCC’s mission is simple: help each child have a good day.

Location

We are located in central Los Angeles but support students and families from all over LA County.

Inaugural Class

October 2025: Due to limited funding, GDCC can only host a small cohort of students and mentors in its Pilot Program. Thank you to all of those who showed interest in our inaugural class!

If you are interested in volunteering with us in the future, please keep in touch!

Privacy Notice: In response to parent feedback, GDCC will not share student information or images. We appreciate the families who raised this concern and helped shape our policy.
